Niall Ransford: Classical Guitar

Join us for an intimate classical guitar performance by Niall Ransford, graduate of Bard College. He will explore the rich legacy of Bach鈥檚 influence on the guitar in a program featuring stunning works by composers from the Americas, alongside Bach himself. The journey begins with the Lute Suite in E Minor, a cornerstone of the guitar repertoire. Its famous Bourr茅e, (recognizable from Jethro Tull鈥檚 iconic version and the film School of Rock), showcases Bach鈥檚 timeless appeal across genres and generations.
On Thursday 5/28 and Friday 5/29, come also for the student showcases of the Classical Guitar Immersion program, led by guitarist Scott Kritzer. Thursday鈥檚 performance is entitled 鈥淩omantic music for guitar,鈥 and Friday鈥檚 will be 鈥淢usic from the Baroque.鈥
Admission is free thanks to the Mount Angel Institute.
